“Possibilities was written out of love, from a mother’s heart, to bring a voice to her exceptional, nonverbal and nonambulatory daughter, who since birth had a variety of special needs. The story showcases real-life moments in the main character’s life in hopes of facilitating acceptance, compassion, and inclusion for differently-abled children by demonstrating that there is more to them than what people may assume at first glance. The author invites readers to explore the potential of possibilities she and other special needs individuals embody, whether the possibilities are tangible or imagined, and challenges readers to celebrate their differences and bravely embrace their own unique possibilities.”

Rootie the Sunflower Bud
Hand painted in watercolor
“Ever since he was a sprout, Rootie the sunflower bud has lived comfortably in the dark foliage of the garden. The other sunflowers are blooming and facing the sun and Rootie wonders if he’s made for more than standing alone in the dark. To find out, he’ll have to grow past his fear of the unknown world above so that he, too, can shine.”
